Sailor Moon Costume

For Halloween this year, I was one of my favourite childhood characters... Sailor Moon! My Sailor Moon costume was actually a repeat outfit, from when I was a child! My mother sewed the costume for me from a McCall pattern (which I'm sure I still have...) and made it in the largest size. I added a pair of gorgeous red leather over the knee boots, white gloves and a toy Sailor Moon's wand  to complete the look. sailor-moon-costume-1-of-7 sailor-moon-costume-7-of-7 tuxedo-mask-costume My boyfriend was tuxedo mask, because my costume wouldn't be complete! For his Tuxedo Mask costume, Daniel wore a tuxedo from Topshop, a white shirt, a vampire cape (flipped inside out to hide the red collar), a top hat and a papier maché mask from the Dollar Store.

Green trench coat + over the knee boots

After a chilly weekend, one thing is clear: fall is finally here. I've already swapped loafers for over the knee boots. I feel that a pair of black boots would have been too harsh with my green trench coat. The Samantha style from Chinese Laundry are tall enough for my height, which is a huge plus. I also like the contrast between the slouchy construction and the stiletto heel. I feel that OTK boots elevate any outfit into a chic, trendy look. They're also super warm, so over the knee boots are definitely here to stay!

What I wore: Nordstrom Eaton Gala

I wanted to share what I wore to the Nordstrom Eaton Gala, on the eve of the Nordstrom Yorkdale Gala! For this charity event, I wore a Kate Spade dress, Ferragamo Pola bow heels, Kendra Scott earrings and a quilted wallet on chain. nordstrom-eaton-gala-1-of-6 The Nordstrom Eaton Gala was so much fun. I came down to Toronto for it in the midst of my first week of school, but I loved the whirlwind trip! Guests got to walk the red carpet, get photos taken at a stop and repeat, and preview the store before it opened a couple days later. There was also a stunning fashion show, that showcased Nordstrom's collections. I really enjoyed seeing some of Nordstrom's luxe designer pieces—think Marchesa gowns—go down the runway. Celebrity guests included models Hilary Rhoda and Petra Nemcova, as well as Toronto Mayor John Tory in the front row. The best part, was that the gala raised over $270,000 for six Toronto-based charities! If you're still hoping to go to the Yorkdale gala, tickets are on sale here.
