Hi I’m Natalie Ast, I live in Toronto and I started blogging in 2009. This blog started off under a different moniker, but now it represents: – Natalie Ast’s style. Drop the “e” and “s” in the middle and you get it! From a young age, I have been following fashion. Every Sunday since the age of three, I would watch Fashion Television, where I would immerse myself in the beautiful garments that went down the runways in Milan, Paris, London and New York. Jeanne Beker was, and still is my idol.
Fast forward several years later, and I attended Ryerson University’s Journalism School, in hopes of digging my heels into fashion journalism and media. In first year of university, I started sharing my thoughts on fashion online and posting my daily outfits to Lookbook.nu. I wanted a place where I could share both my personal style, and my perspective on fashion news. I also wanted to put together outfits that combine my love of designer and discount fashion. I try to create outfits that are achievable at any budget, and I love supporting local fashion in Canada.
Currently, I’m a law student at the University of Ottawa. I hope to work in litigation and possibly explore a career in media law or IP. I divide my time between the nation’s capital and Toronto, and I love travelling. I love to immerse myself in the art, architecture and cuisine of a new place and I hope you will come along with me as I document it on this blog.
As a Toronto native, I also want to make a mission of highlighting the best of what the city has to offer. From TIFF to Fashion Week and NXNE, I love that Toronto is a city with unique culture and fashion influences, stemming from the diverse citizens that make up our larger community.
In my spare time, I love to dance ballet, visit Harbourfront and spend weekends at my cottage in the North Kawarthas.
