Look Party Ready with a Leopard Midi

Dressing for a special occasion in the winter can be difficult. I’m so used to just throwing on a cute dress, sexy sandals and a little clutch that once winter and snow come into the equation, I always end up wearing boring opaque tights and heels. For this outfit, I wanted to share a look that was party-ready, yet seasonally appropriate.

I paired a Missguided leopard midi dress with my newest jewelled Anthropologie Deco Burst belt to accentuate my tiny waist and break up the long midi silhouette. I love that this dress has long sleeves, so you can be warm at your event and simply throw on a wool coat on top, without all the bulk. For extra warmth, I’m wearing a faux fur purple stole. I’m wearing damask print tights, c/o Secret, which introduces subtle pattern mixing. I’m also wearing suede BCBGeneration booties that have a rugged lug sole and sturdy heel. They are simple booties, but practical even in winter when stilettos aren’t an option.

To accessorize, I also wore a vintage snakeskin clutch to introduce more colour into the outfit. I’m wearing my Michael Kors tortoiseshell Tribecca watch, and I’m also wearing my new favourite ring, which has a crescent and a star (similar style here). Oh my God… such a perfect, alternative holiday outfit! All I’ve been seeing are sequins, poof skirts, and overall not very practical clothing, but this is perfect. First of all, midi body con dresses are a yes; so sexy not even showing much. Second of all, you accessorized this beautifully, from the oh so elegant purple fur stole, to that amazing Anthropologie belt (their stuff is so overpriced but so good…) to that green clutch: somehow it all looks very well put together. Kudos to you for betting on such a risky (although warm and comfy) outfit, because you’re rocking it girl!

This is my first time stumbling upon your blog, and needless to say, you’ve already got a new follower from Spain. Lots of love xxxx

      Hola Carmen!

Thanks so much for your lovely comment! I agree that sometimes party outfits can be restrictive, but this one (in a stretchy jersey fabric) is easy to dance in and throw in the wash! The Anthro belt was on sale, but even at its original price, is so worth it! I find it really pulls a look together and is so pretty this time of year. Happy new year btw!
