She wore an itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikini… well, sort of. There’s something iconic about a yellow bikini, and my new favourite swimsuit is a modern take on the flirty beach classic.
I’m wearing a fringe bandeau bikini in acid yellow, along with the matching sweetheart boy brief bikini bottoms from Roxy’s Surf Essentials collection, care of Roxy. I immediately fell in love with the bright neon colour, which compliments any skin tone and even brings out a tan. I wore this suit when I was in Mexico over Christmas, and was amazed at how comfortable and wearable the suit is. Roxy is a brand synonymous with surfing and sports, so it’s no wonder that the suit stayed in place all day. Bandeau style tops are a huge trend, but I always find they fall down. This one stayed in place, and provided enough of a boost. I also loved the sweetheart cut of the bottoms, which provided coverage and never rode up. No more getting caught pulling on your suit!
With spring break coming soon, or already under way, the first thing I always pack into my suitcase are my swimsuits. Roxy’s collection is bright, flirty and super functional, my suit even stayed in place when I went snorkelling in Mexico.
… and they’re cute enough for monkeying around. Pardon the pun.
Neon and pastel swimsuits are big trends, and definitely compliment your tan. While it may be easier to don a black or white suit, a bright one is fun and is easier to mix and match with different coloured coverups. I even tried mixing the fringe top with a chiffon high-low skirt for a fun poolside look.
I couldn’t resist taking a photo with Ariel, I felt like my long skirt echoed the mermaid’s elegant fish tail.
This fringe top is so cute, I feel like I could almost wear it with high-waisted shorts. Whatever swimsuit you decide to wear on your next vacay, functionality should never be sacrificed for style, I’m happy to have found a suit that does both!
