Work wear Wednesday: navy scalloped dress

navy scalloped dress for work

I find it difficult at times to dress for work when you have life events or parties on the same day. But I think I found the right balance with a cute navy scalloped dress that worked for the office and my sister’s convocation. To keep things work-appropriate, I wore the dress earlier in the day with black suede flats. The scalloped dress has a shorter hemline with my height, and I needed to be comfortable as I was researching in a library, so I stuck with flats in this case. I swapped those out for a pair of iridescent holo (any holosexuals out there!? I’m addicted to Cristine’s nail videos!) pumps to amp up my look into semi-formal attire for my sister’s convocation.

I’m wearing a navy scalloped dress from Winners (similar scalloped dress here), iridescent pumps from Vince Camuto, and a medium Harmony tote from Kate Spade.

I think this navy scalloped dress would work great under a blazer or light jacket too, depending how formal your office is. I’m looking forward to wearing it with tights as well. If you’re really brave, pattern mixing the scallops with a pair of swiss dot tights would elevate this look even more.

I love how the dress features a scalloped hemline and scallops around the neck as well. The stretchy jersey fabric is also really comfortable (it honestly feels like yoga clothing), and keeps you cool on a hot summer day!

I think next time I wear this navy scalloped dress, I will layer it with a waterfall trench or a denim jacket for a more casual way to wear this versatile dress. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions on styling a dress from office to play. I’ll be sharing more office-appropriate looks in the coming months!
