Versace for H&M

It’s official, the house of Versace will be collaborating with H&M for a capsule collection that will feature clothing and accessories for men & women, and some items for the home.  Donatella even wore one of the dresses from the collection yesterday at her men’s show in Milan.

This news has me squealing like a little girl.  Donatella Versace said she will be making iconic pieces that capture the sexy spirit of the Italian fashion house.  I collect vintage Versace, and have a few amazing blouses, ties and jackets from the 80s and 90s.  This time, I will be lining up at Yorkdale on November 19 to make sure I get my hands on a few items (most notably the leather studded jacket).

The menswear seems classic, with tailored tuxedo jackets, but it’s clear that the women’s line will be the most coveted.  It’s hard to tell the quality of the materials, but so far, I’m enthusiastic about the line.  I loved the Lanvin collection last year (and snagged the pink ruffle dress and red necklace) and like Alber Elbaz’ collaboration, the Versace items seem comparable aesthetically with Versace and Versus.  Watch the video below to get a sneak peek of more items from the collection.
