They Call Me Mellow Yellow

Even if Spring is still three weeks away, a bright pop of neon can help you get through the last few grey days. While pastel shades are popping up like Easter eggs in dollar stores, we can’t ignore how citron is one of the hottest hues this season. Here are my favourites, from high pricetag to low!

Proenza Schouler’s iconic PS1 satchel now comes in a bold, bright shade of citron. The vivid colour draws attention to the structure and shape of the bag, and will stand out against any outfit. Available online at Bergdorf Goodman.

This might have been the bag that started it all. The Fluorescent collection from the Cambridge Satchel Company has been coveted by fashion bloggers and editors alike. This bag is made in England out of leather, and customizable with your own initials. I have one in purple, and I’m so tempted to get another satchel in this highliter yellow.

This snakeskin-embossed zip pouch from Marc by Marc Jacobs is a modern and sleek bag that is perfect for a night out. You can easily fit all your essentials, and even use it as a chic file folder since it’s A4 paper sized! Find it at Barneys.

For a more casual look, this canvas backpack by Baggu is an eco-conscious reusable bag. Available at ASOS.

These jeans from River Island¬†are an eye-catching twist on the classic skinny jean. The zipper details add interest and they pair well with a pastel-coloured blouse or fisherman’s sweater.

Athletic-inspired footwear is a huge trend on the streets. Channel Isabel Marant’s sneaker shoe for less with this neon pair from H&M.

If you’re too scared to go all out with a bright pair of pants or bag, this chain necklace from Forever XXI¬†blends two trends; statement necklaces and citron. Style it over a white button up or with a simple coloured evening dress for a unique look.

So why not add some pop colours to spice up a drab, grey wool coat. You can even match your look with some Mountain Dew or Limoncello!
