Since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of owning an Hermès Birkin bag, and I’ve come pretty close to owning one with this nylon tote I picked up from Town Shoes. The roomy nylon tote is cleverly printed with an amazing rendition of a sumptuous Birkin, and even has shading around the flaps and folds of the bag – and only cost $29 with tax!
Of course, it doesn’t even compare to the real thing, but I love the cheeky pop-culture nod to the iconic Birkin, while making a statement about the high cost of fashion. As for the rest of my outfit, I’m wearing the asymmetrical court shoe from Zara, a black accordion pleat skirt from Costa Blanca (which is slowly becoming my favourite seperate of the season), and a vintage lavender sheer blouse.
I’ve fallen in love with some pieces I’ve taken hostage from my grandmother’s closet, and this lavender blouse is a front-runner. I’ve saved my hard-earned dollars from buying the modern version at American Apparel, and I love that this blouse is fitted and has gorgeous cinched cuffs and pleats down the front.
My necklace is from Forever XXI. The best part of this outfit is that I think I’ve captured the look of a fashionable high-powered business lady for a mere $150.
… now to start a savings account to afford my real Birkin.
Love this look m’dear!
It’s business casual with a fashionable twist…something you don’t usually see unfortunately. Well Done! 🙂

I love the Zara shoe! I have wanted it for a while now! Think they would still have it?
They were so hard to find, I saw them at Bloor in black and white and they didn’t have size 39s… I snagged these at Fairview mall in early May! They’re on sale now at the website, but I think they’re hard to come by. Good luck! They are the instant leg extenders 🙂
