Spring Break in Bikini Village

For reading week, my sister was lucky enough to head to sunny Florida. Besides her Minnie Mouse ears, the first thing she packed were a few new bikinis from Bikini Village. Just in time for spring break, their website stocks plenty of mid to high-end swimwear brands like Vitamin A, Nanette Lepore, Billabong and my new favourite, Maaji.

My sister took a couple Maaji suits with her on vacation, which incorporate a few of the hottest swimwear trends.

High neck swimsuits are a huge trend this season. While they can give the appearance of minimizing your bustline, I love that they shield your decolletage from sun damage and give more real estate to show off a dazzling print. This bikini from Maaji is also reversible (yet another swimwear trend), which means you get two suits, for the luggage space and price tag of one! The sexy lace up corset back also is a trend in swimwear, while the fun print keeps it from being too serious.

The other suit Sasha is wearing at the top of this post is also from Maaji and features a gorgeous combo of Spanish tile and beetle print. I love the way the colours and prints combine into this suit. The bottoms are also super comfortable, soft and stay put while swimming.

We were both really excited to discover this new swimwear brand and have fun shopping at Bikini Village. The online shop makes it easy to pick up something last minute, without driving to the mall. I’m always weary about shopping online now with our dollar being so low, but because Bikini Village is owned and operated in Canada, you have no worries when it comes to duty fees! I also like that their online shop models look like real girls so you can get a sense of how a suit will look like on the body.

Bikini Village also stocks mens’ swimwear and some gorgeous coverups to get you from the pool to the beach bar with no effort. If you’re lucky enough to be heading somewhere warm for spring break (it’s currently -16C in Ottawa), I’m jealous! But I hope you’ll share in the comments below where you’re heading and what type of swimwear you plan on packing!
