Mad Men Style: YSL cat-eye glasses & blue floral dress

Today’s look was inspired in part by Sally Draper and Marilyn Monroe in How to Marry a Millionaire. Appropriate, considering the hit show premieres its last season this weekend! Since the seventh grade, I’ve been obsessed with cat-eye frames, and have worn them ever since. That’s why I immediately fell in love with this Yves Saint Laurent pair c/o Clearly Contacts.

I’m wearing a blue and white floral china dress c/o Persunmall, purple leather bow belt by Kate Spade, Michael Kors Pressly watch, stacking rings, purple suede Zara pumps (similar here), and Yves Saint Laurent cat-eye glasses c/o Clearly Contacts.

I’ve ordered glasses from Clearly Contacts before, as part of their “First Pair Free” promotion. I like that they have all of the most current styles and high-end brands like YSL, RayBan, Marc Jacobs and Valentino for low prices. Shipping is super quick, and since it’s a Canadian company, you don’t have to bite your nails, worried about high import and duty taxes (I’m still hurting from a pair of Prada sunglasses from Italy I THOUGHT were a bargain…) If you aren’t blind as a bat like me, you can still find cute shades perfect for summer. I’m loving Dior’s oversize Fanelle frame, and this chic black and metal pair by Raen Pogue.

To go with the retro frames, I’m wearing a cute 1960s style dress complete with a voluminous skirt and high neckline. Lately, I’ve been wearing thicker, brocade like fabrics on dresses. I like that it has more weight to it, and the texture gives even a new dress a vintage feel. The print is also perfect for spring and summer! Here’s to hoping this weather will last.
