La Jolla San Diego

La Jolla San Diego

One of my top memories from my trip to California was visiting La Jolla San Diego. This oceanfront village is brimming with cute boutiques, restaurants, and old pastel hotels. I fell in love with La Jolla cove, and had to take some photos with the breathtaking vistas complete with sea lions.

I’m wearing a printed strapless dress from Ted Baker‘s spring collection and Sam Edelman flat sandals. I was wearing heels earlier in the day when we were walking around the boutiques, but swapped them out for practical flats to explore the cliffside.

I loved how playful the sea lions were. One was so close to me, I even snapped a selfie with her! She was definitely putting on a show for the cameras, yawning and making cute noises. My sister warned me they smelled bad, but I didn’t really notice.

Along our walk, we spotted so many cute pastel pink hotels. After spending most of my time in downtown San Diego in the East Village, it was such a treat to see these almost stereotypical motels. I would love to rent an Air B n B in La Jolla and live like a local, going for runs along the beach, coffee at any of the cute indie cafes, and then maybe even try stand up paddle boarding in the afternoon! The drive to get to La Jolla San Diego was also so scenic, and the cliffside houses made me die with envy. It truly is a gorgeous place to live, with adorable sea lions as a bonus!

I wish I had more time to explore the boutiques in the area, but we only stopped for a cafe and visit to the cove. I would avoid going on a Sunday because it is impossible to find parking! We had about a 15 minute walk to get back down to the water front. However, it was nice to see the area full of people.

This dress is a gorgeous piece from Ted Baker‘s new Spring 2017 collection. I saw this ocean print and knew right away it would be perfect to shoot in California. The best part about this dress is that it has pockets! Super convenient for events, because you could easily store your iPhone and card case and go purse free (which is what I did).

I can’t wait to come back to California and discover more gems like La Jolla San Diego.
