Girls Weekend in New York City: Eat, Stay, and Play

After finishing law school, I didn't have much time to breathe... the first week was spent moving back home, prepping for a job interview (I got it!) and catching up with friends and family. Then came studying for the bar exam, which pretty much swallowed up my whole time. I was chatting with my friend Sabina of VitaandModa.com one day, and we decided to book a Girls weekend in New York City on a whim! We didn't know where we were staying, but thanks to my friends at Expedia.ca, they helped us with a perfect hotel in the perfect location! Keep reading for a recap and itinerary of our girls weekend in New York City!

Our room was fabulous, spacious and had an incredible view of Carnegie Hall. The room was very modern, with an incredibly comfy king-size bed. There was a fridge in the room, perfect for storing snacks or a bottle of Prosecco, and floor-to-ceiling windows that had automatic blinds. One of my favourite features was the double vanity. Sabina and I could both get ready at the same time, and the mirrors even lit up - for expert makeup application! This hotel is new, and everything felt so fresh and modern. The girls at the reception desk were so friendly and fun too! The best part was the location. It was a 15 minute walk to Lincoln Centre, 5 minutes to Fifth Avenue, and about 10 minutes away from Times Square. There were many subway stops nearby, and Columbus Circle steps away. I would definitely stay at The Carnegie Hotel again, but you can check out more hotels in New York at Expedia.ca.

Anniversary weekend at Spa Scandinave Mont Tremblant with Ford Canada

This weekend, we celebrated our 7th anniversary! We went on a winter adventure in Mont Tremblant, and our weekend included a spa day, fine French cuisine, a horse-drawn sleigh ride and getting a little lost in the woods. Luckily, we had a Ford Explorer on loan for the weekend, which made the journey all the more comfortable! Daniel picked up the vehicle in Toronto and drove over to Ottawa so we could start our trip together to Mont-Tremblant. anniversary weekend ford canada (1 of 25) anniversary weekend ford canada (3 of 25)ford explorer (1 of 1) I'm wearing a pink ruffle blouse from Banana Republic, a black faux fur vest, blue skinny jeans, boots from Vince Camuto and a Mackage Mini Rubie bag. Spa Scandinave Mont-Tremblant

Spa Scandinave Mont Tremblant review We started our adventure with a couples' massage at Spa Scandinave Mont Tremblant. It was incredibly relaxing, and a special treat. Daniel has never had a massage before, so it was really nice to be pampered and share the experience. We also really enjoyed the spa area. I loved how there was complimentary tea and fruit available, and everyone obeyed by the silence rules. At Spa Scandinave Mont Tremblant, it's advised to do the baths cycle, where you start with a hot sauna, plunge into a cold pool and then relax in a hot tub or reading room. At Spa Scandinave, they even had an option where you could dip into the 2C river! I wasn't that brave... I really liked how serene it was, and that it wasn't full of people. Right before we left we snuck some photos by the river, as it was the perfect natural backdrop.

Old Town San Diego Travel Guide

One of my favourite excursions during my visit to San Diego was an afternoon in Old Town San Diego. Founded in 1769, it was the first European settlement on the West Coast and included a mission and a fort. You can experience what is was like to live in 1820-1870s, as many buildings are preserved from that era. During that time,…

La Jolla San Diego

One of my top memories from my trip to California was visiting La Jolla San Diego. This oceanfront village is brimming with cute boutiques, restaurants, and old pastel hotels. I fell in love with La Jolla cove, and had to take some photos with the breathtaking vistas complete with sea lions. I was wearing heels earlier in the day when we were walking around the boutiques, but swapped them out for practical flats to explore the cliffside.

What to expect at all-inclusive resorts

I’ve been visiting the Caribbean for the holidays for nearly 15 years. In that time, I’ve visited several destinations, including the Bahamas, Mayan Riviera, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Jamaica. If you’re not sure what to expect at all-inclusive resorts, I hope this post will help you choose your next destination or dream holiday! purple-bell-sleeve-dress-2-of-4 I'm wearing a lilac bell-sleeve dress from Forever 21, nude leather sandals from Zara (similar gladiator sandals here), and a blue leather saddle bag from London (similar baby blue bag here).

What to expect at all-inclusive resorts: Choosing a Hotel

Picking a hotel is always where I start. Sometimes I have fixed dates, which can make the options and prices a lot more tight. If you have a window of a couple weeks, or even the entire month free, it makes things a lot more flexible. Processed with VSCO with a6 preset I love using Expedia to book a trip. The interface is easy to work with, and I can collect TD Expedia points to rack up travel points faster. This is totally not a plug for Expedia either – I honestly always end up booking through that site because it’s easiest.
