Last night, I attended the launch party of African Fashion Week Toronto, which runs from August 15-18. Guests had the chance to mingle with designers, models and the media. It was a colourful celebration, filled with delicious mousse desserts, cocktails and lively African music.
How awesome are her shoes? I couldn’t believe they’re by Sam Edelman! She designed the dress herself, and is part of her line she’s showing on Saturday at 6 p.m. All her fabrics are sourced from Ghana, which stimulates their economy, and the dresses are constructed in Canada.
I’m excited to see such a diversity in fashion, and look forward to posting more about African Fashion Week Toronto, which runs until Sunday.
Looks fun! Love all the gorgeous prints!
I didn’t know the African fashion week also exists… but why not, actually? I really like those clothes, they’re always so colourful and beautiful.
AFWT was a blast. No one should miss it next year.
