A little while back, I was sent items from the Mary Kay Paradise Calling collection, and I wanted to quickly share a review and rundown of some of the products featured. All of them are available now on Mary Kay, while they last!
My favourite items from this collection are without a doubt, the Whipped Eye Colour. At $18 each, you get a massive pot, there’s easily 1.5x more in this pot than other cream shadows and I can’t get over how positively silky they are. I’ve used other drugstore brands and high end cream shadows, but the Tiki Hut shadow from the Mary Kay Paradise Calling Collection is absolutely STUNNING. It’s been my go to for a while, and I witheld posting this review as I wanted to test out the products for a while. This eyeshadow is one you won’t regret picking up. I love how it has a metallic sheen, but isn’t too glittery. I like layering it over a neutral all over shadow as a base and then adding a little bit more of the Whipped Eye Colour in my crease.
Another product I’m loving are the Limited Edition Lacquered Lip Shine glosses. I’m wearing the Exotic Orchid shade and it’s positively lovely! I’ve been looking for a petal purple, and this one is super rich in pigment. The colour lasts a long time, but I feel it can be a bit sticky. I’m not a big gloss girl, but for the colour payoff, this is a great product. I also swatched the Tropical Mandarin (it reminds me of Hawaiian hibiscus flowers) and Sun Baked beige gloss too. I’m not a huge fan of the way Sun Baked looks on me, but that’s because I have a red skin tone and cannot wear a beige lip unless I want to look like I have no lips!
To match the poppy lip lacquers, the Mary Kay Paradise Calling Collection also features matching nail lacquer shades! Again, both the Exotic Orchid and Tropical Mandarin are my favourites… I love the idea of matching your lips to your nails, especially for a vacation or night out!
The Limited Edition Moisturizing Spray Lotion has an intoxicating coconut water scent. I can’t wait to spritz this on after a dip in the pool this summer. Now, I’ve been using it on dry legs post showers.
In addition to the Mary Kay Paradise Calling collection, I also checked out their new eyeliners. I’ve been using the brown one to add some pop to my outer corners of my eyes’ waterline, and the grey is really cool as an extra line layered over my daily cat eye look. I prefer using liquid liner for my eyes, but lately, I’ve been using the black eyeliner to add an extra punch to my eyes by lining my top waterline as I did in the pictures above. This liner has good staying power and I love that you don’t need a sharpener!
I tested the Mary Kay True Dimensions sheer lipsticks. They were a bit too sheer for my liking, but the Sparkling Rose shade and Arctic Apricot are a beautiful alternative to a chapstick or typical gloss. These lipsticks have vitamin E and jojoba oil and mango butter to keep your lips nourished. If they packed in an SPF, these would be the perfect luxe alternative to a chapstick when I’m not wearing lipstick! I do like the glitter, and unlike my Anna Sui lipsticks, the glitter is very fine and still feels silky smooth.
All in all, I really enjoyed using the products in the Mary Kay Paradise Calling collection. I loved the colours in that there was a balance between eye-catching bright shades and more neutral options as well.
