The Clarins Summer 2016 collection is full of beauty products that will enhance your inner goddess. From bronzer to waterproof eyeshadow, Clarins beauty put forward an excellent, curated collection this season. I’ve shared a review of Clarins’ summer collection, as well as a beauty look pulling together my favourite products from the line.
To pull off this natural summer look perfect for the beach, I’m wearing Clarins Ombre Waterproof Cream eyeshadow in Golden Sand for the base, and Taupe in the crease. I used my fingers to pat on the base colour and blend in the accent. I finished my eyes with my favourite eyeliner and Double Fix Mascara. For my skin, I used my regular base and added the new Clarins Bronzing and Blush powder duo and sealed it in with Clarins Fix Make-Up so that it would last all day. For lips, I used the Clarins Natural Lip Perfector which gave a light colour and great shine without being sticky.

My absolute favourite products from this release are the Clarins Bronzing and Blush powder duo and the Clarins Self-Tanning Milky Lotion. For the bronzer, I use a blush brush and swirl the centre for blush, then in large circular motions, I apply the darker bronze shades in a “3” shape on the sides of my face for a natural glow. I have been on the quest for the perfect self-tanning moisturizer, and I’ve found it. I’ve tried drugstore brands and even La Mer, but the Clarins formula delivers a bronzy hue, isn’t patchy and smells like HEAVEN. I love the intoxicating fig scent. I’ve been using it once a week to keep my tan on!
The Clarins Instant Lip Comfort Oil in Red Berry offers a nice, juicy colour with lots of hydration. I found it to be a bit thick but once it sinks into the lips, the hydration is apparent, while the sheen and pigmentation is really flattering. Great for a beach or pool day, I like that the colour isn’t overpowering.
The aspect of this collection that disappointed me were the Waterproof Cream Eyeshadows. I loved the metallic shades and that they were waterproof. I found them very difficult to blend and the consistency was a bit sticky. HOWEVER, they did last all day in 30+ degree weather, so I’d definitely feel confident wearing them to the beach or at the pool.
I love how all the products in the Clarins Summer 2016 collection compliment one another. The Fix Make-Up is my new go to to set my makeup before heading out, while the Lip Perfector is permanently stationed on my work desk for hydration in the chilly AC environment! If you could only buy one product, I’d wholly recommend the Clarins Milky Self-Tanning lotion to give you a glow without the risk of sun damage. I hope you all have a lovely summer weekend!
