21 Balançoires in Montreal

This weekend, I felt like a kid again when I stumbled upon 21 Balançoires, an interactive installation and urban playground where 21 swings were put in the middle of downtown at the Quartier des Spectacles. Parents pushed their children, and the kids at heart (including myself) enjoyed the good weather by playing on the enchanting swingset. What makes this installation special is how each swing is tuned to a musical note, so as you swing, you create your own music. From afar, the swings sound like a music box, and it’s very enchanting. At night, the bottom of the swing seats light up, adding to the charm of the installation.

The swings are an “exercise in musical cooperation” and is essentially a giant instrument. If you’re in Montreal this spring, it’s definitely a unique work of art to see and take part in.

I was enchanted by the swings, and I wish I had the time to go back and shoot another look to compliment the whimsical piece.

Haha those swings are awesome! Lights that change in color when you scream or talk to them also exist, i love that kind of things! And your striped pants and leather jacket and purple blouse, i love them as well 🙂
