WMCFW Day 4 Recap: Soia & Kyo Fall 2014

On Thursday, I checked out the Soia & Kyo Fall 2014 collection, a beautiful collection full of long Max Mara-esque coats and pops or regal red in their signature outerwear line.

Models donned cute wool caps, and I love this chic (and probably toasty) interpretation of the baseball cap! I also liked the patent leather sleeves on the parka in the middle, as well as the fur accent on the collar of the grey coat.soia and kyo fall 2014 quilted leather jacket

The collection didn’t have too many leather pieces, but I loved the varsity jacket silhouette of this bomber, complete with elegant quilted detailing. This is a jacket that can be either dressed up or down, and I love the slim fit.soia and kyo fall 2014 red coats

Pops of red made their way into the collection. I love how this season, the brand ventured into textured wools and rich, varying hues of wine. There was even a mens’ coat in red, which looked very similar to one my boyfriend has been wearing for a couple years now! He has always been a proponent of injecting colour into a drab men’s winter wardrobe, and this collection achieved that goal, without going overboard by keeping the lines and details simple. My favourite red coat was the one on the right, complete with black leather piping along the pocket trim and a pretty grey floral lining. The fur accents on the collar are another elegant touch.

I loved the brushed, striped wool on this coat. Models were wearing this material on their caps, and finally a coat came out with the material all over. It’s a statement piece, but the neutral coloured stripes tone down the brighter red.soia and kyo oversized coat fall 2014This season, it’s all about the minimalist, long coat. I love Soia & Kyo’s version in cream, taupe and camel. All the coats had simple, single-breasted buttons and leather trim on the pockets. This is an elegant silhouette that will stand the test of time, and I love that the brand headed in this direction for this collection.
