Fashion week seems to always fly by in a blur, but I wanted to share what I wore to the tents at David Pecaut Square. I was busy last week completing law school applications and could only make it for the tail end of the week.
On Thursday, I wore a striped sweater dress from the Sonia Rykiel for H&M collection. Made of wool and sewn-on rhinestones, this piece incorporated two top fall trends: pink and stripes. I layered the dress with a leather jacket created by Ryerson fashion design student, Yvonne Lin. I accessorized with my Kate Spade Maggie bag and a pair of high-heeled oxfords (similar here) I bought in Paris.
This outfit is perfect for seeing the shows, as the leather jacket is warm when I ran between work and fashion week, yet not too warm to wear inside the tents. I love the eye-catching rhinestones all over this dress and the girly pink colour as well.
My shoes were incredibly comfy for waiting in line to get into shows, and for running around in the rain.
I felt comfortable in this outfit because I was wearing some of my favourite pieces, including the jacket and shoes, which both have special meaning for me. My dress was hanging idly in the back of my closet and I was happy to take it out. Last season, I wouldn’t dream of wearing a piece so heavy and striped, yet this season, I have no fear. I’m usually quick to get rid of things I feel aren’t in style anymore, but sometimes I’m grateful that my hoarding ways kick in and I hold on to the quality items, because fashion is always cyclical.
