Truman the Afghan Hound

A few weeks back, I met the most handsome young gentleman. His name is Truman and comes from an esteemed lineage. I was taken at once with his sweet brown eyes and oversized nose, giving him a sense of character. Of course, I’m talking about my grandmother’s neighbour’s new puppy, Truman the Afghan hound.

The puppy was just over 10 weeks old, and was so playful. I also couldn’t believe how soft his fur was.

Evidently, he loves my coat. I can’t stop wearing it, it’s an acrylic felt coat with a simple a-line style, with grey accents on the arms and gold zipper detailing. I got it c/o Nowistyle. My sweater is from H&M, my skirt is also c/o Nowistyle, my tights are from the dollar store (believe it or not) and my booties are from Topshop (similar ones here).

I love how simple this jacket is, that it allows myself to play it up with some rich-coloured leggings and fun booties. Here, I’m also wearing my favourite fur scarf, that I cannot go a single day in the winter without wearing!

The jacket also features very rich gold zippers that lay flat and are minimalist, yet eye-catching in gold. The detail is simple, but makes all the difference.

These boots have been in my closet for a while, and I’ve been saving them for the perfect outfit. I love their tiny leopard print on the pony hair and the low kitten heels. I’m pretty tall, so I don’t see the need to wear astronomically high heel booties everyday (especially on a visit to my grandmas…) so these fit the bill for looking nice, without back pain. I picked them up from Topshop at their old home in Jonathan + Olivia on Ossington (how I miss those days…) and were ridiculously on sale. If you’re looking for a pair of similar booties, check out Dorothy Perkin’s version.

I often don’t like playing matchy-matchy when I’m wearing an accent colour, but this rich bordeaux needed a mate – in the form of this wine-hued satchel from Coach.

But enough about my outfit… I know you’re all here for the puppy photos.

Sorry Daniel… I think this little boy has stolen my heart.
