The Peacock Parade launch

Internet shoppers and fashion enthusiasts alike can enjoy a
new flash-sale site, The Peacock Parade, without having to worry about shipping
from the United States.  The Peacock Parade is based in Toronto, and launched last
month.

While there are a bevy of other flash-sale sites, The Peacock Parade is intent on setting itself apart with their mix of high-end designer brands like Yves Saint Laurent, and Prada.  However, the site also carries Canadian brands such as Greta Constantine, as well as pieces designed exclusively for the site by home-grown talent such as Jenny Bird, Claudia Accessories, C’est Jol! and Biko Jewellery. Online members will also have access to style tips and designer profiles featured on the site’s blog, making the shopping experience more informative and interactive.

An evening at the Thompson hotel’s rooftop lounge in Toronto on July 18 celebrated the launch of the site.  Guests included Canadian fashion designers from the site, models dresses in frocks from the Peacock Parade and the founders.

Founded by Canadians, Jan Gandhi and Nancy Sahota, their business idea was created when both of them lived in New York City. They wanted to give Canadian
customers similar access to the online sample sales available south of the
border. “Canadian women have amazing style and great taste, but are often limited by where they can find the brands they want,” says Sahota.

The site definitely features brands and items any fashionista could want, a note-worthy pick was a gorgeous Gucci Snaffle Bit Tassle Bag at almost 40% off the retail price.  The flash sales last only a few days, so be sure to snatch up that coveted designer piece before
it’s gone.
