Valentine’s Day is literally around the corner, so I wanted to share one last look inspired by romance and flirtiness.
This weekend on Chinese New Year, the sun peaked out and it was beautiful. I wore this mauve-coloured sweater dress and pleather peplum belt c/o Nowistyle, along with graphic grey sweater tights from Wonderbra, leather gloves made in Italy from Marshalls, ankle strap stiletto shoes by Joe Fresh, a fox fur collar by Danier and last, but not least, my new favourite carry-all, the trapeze satchel c/o Nowistyle.
To top the look off, and add a romantic touch, I am wearing a thin waistbelt from Forever 21 emblazoned with gold letters spelling, LOVE. No doubt it was inpired by the MOSCHINO gold letter belts, I almost prefer this one because I don’t have a brand name around my waist. I’d rather promote “love” than an Italian fashion brand most famously favoured by the least successful Kardashian. Ringing in under $8, it was a guilt-free way to add a touch of romance and pick up on the other gold details in my look.
I am in love with this large trapeze satchel that was sent to me by the Japanese fast-fashion brand. The bag had a strong plastic smell at first, but after it got some air, it has become a handy carry-all that can carry all my makeup, notebooks (I’m always taking notes on the go for stories) and snacks. I’ve gotten used to wearing a small bag, but now, I’ve totally fallen in love with this roomy tote. Styled after 3.1 Phillip Lim’s infamous Pashli satchel, it is a modern classic. A perfect (and vegan) 3.1 Phillip Lim satchel replica! The bag can even be extended if you undo the zippers while the gold detailing also add a luxe touch to the fast-fashion bag.
Picking up on these gold accents, I’m wearing my new favourite stilettos from Joe Fresh. Featuring a gold metal cap toe and ankle strap, they are trendy and sexy. I can wear any slouchy outfit, throw on this pair of shoes and they instantly glam up my look. A perfect pick at under $20 (and 75 per cent off).
I’ve been dying to wear my newest winter accessories, but a heavy storm dumped a lot of snow and brought wet weather. My new Italian leather gloves are as soft as butter and fit… well, like a glove. I instantly fell in love with this pair from Marshalls when I saw the darling bows. The feminine detail adds interest to the long gloves, and I love the peekaboo of skin or whatever you’re wearing underneath. My fur collar scarf is from Danier. Made of fox fur, the piece is very warm and practical. I love the soft taupe colour, which goes with every sweater and coat in my wardrobe.
The sweater dress I’m wearing is simple and extremely warm. Perfect for a winter stroll, the dress has a fleece-like fabric and is very comfortable. What I love about this look is the way the pleather peplum belt adds shape and femininity to an otherwise straight-forward bodycon dress. Worn at my natural waist, it highlights my shape and camouflages broader hips. I find peplums are romantic and flirty, a perfect combination a day before Valentine’s day.
I hope you enjoyed my Valentine’s Day themed outfit posts, and whether you wear red, black or a sexy silhouette, you can never go wrong by getting in the spirit with a flirty pair of red lace knickers. Even if you’re single, everyone deserves a little spice (and many sweets) on the 14th of February.
