2014 was a very special year. I was not tied down to a job or school at the beginning, and I was free to commit myself to blogging and learning. In September, I moved away from home to Ottawa to attend law school, which felt like a completely new year in itself. From travel to time relaxing at home or at the cottage, I tried to make the most of every moment. Here’s a look back at 2014…
One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had this year was winning a contest with Keds & Glamour Magazine to spend a day in NYC at the Glamour offices. It was a surreal experience, and I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity!
Spending my summer up north at my cottage, and enjoying every last slice of sunshine lakeside.
Greece was the trip of a lifetime! Steeped in history and natural beauty, I cannot say better things about this gorgeous country. I only spent two weeks there, but it felt like a lifetime, and I’ll be back as soon as I can!
I was so happy to take part in the local fashion scene and cover a few shows at World Mastercard Fashion Week this year. With school now, it’s hard to be able to take a few days off, so I’m grateful I had the freedom in Spring to watch the shows, meet people and support the Canadian fashion industry! I hope that in 2015, I’ll be able to make it again (even if it means playing hooky!)
I had so much fun in February visiting Disneyworld and Orlando. I love pretending to be a kid again and enjoying the warm Florida sun! The fashion outlets also didn’t know what hit them!
Here I am, trying to look stylish, sane and collected while studying for the LSAT for the third time at a Hogwarts-esque UofT library. Little did I know that I would ACE it the third time around…… and make it in to law school! Above all, 2014 was a great year of change. Switching my professional trajectory is something I still struggle with, and the “what-ifs” keep me up at night. Every day, I surprise myself with how much more I can read, retain and interpret, and I’m so grateful to be learning this breadth of new material. It’s made me a stronger thinker and person in general and I’m thankful for my family and loved ones for supporting me. I managed to make it through my first semester of law school with only four all-nighters and one exam nightmare, but I’ve come out the other end fine. Bring it on 2015!
And most of all, sharing it all with my my loved ones. I thank everyone, especially my boyfriend for their hard work and support to help make this blog happen… and for putting up with my photographic needs!
As a bonus… here are some of my favourite outfit posts from 2014:
All the best in 2015! Thank you so much for following along, I hope the new year brings you health, happiness and prosperity. Happy new year!
