KENZO x H&M

KENZO x H&M

Did you check out the KENZO x H&M collection? The collection landed in H&M stores on November 3, and featured products for men and women. The French luxury brand, founded by Kenzo Takada brought its colourful streetwear in dazzling animal prints and embellishments to the mall chain. I loved the colour and larger-than-life prints in this collection.

I picked up a KENZO x H&M dress, that retailed for $119 CAD. The price was appropriate and very affordable. The knit dress features a quality material, that has a lot of weight to it. I love the turtleneck shape and the ruffle flounce at the bottom. My sister loves to crochet (check out her Etsy shop, 6IX Stitch here), so I enjoyed this crafty detail in contrast to the 1980s pastel tiger print.

I wore the KENZO x H&M tiger print dress with a Mackage handbag, a leather snake bracelet from Florence, and suede light blue heels from Zara.

Here are my favourite pieces from the collection:

I wasn’t totally excited about the KENZO x H&M collection when the pictures came out, but after seeing the pieces in person, I’ve come around! My sister picked up a gorgeous off-the-shoulder blouse that would look amazing with a pair of skinny jeans and booties.

I also think that this Kenzo x H&M dress would look good with a black bomber or leather jacket. In my test photos, I was actually wearing a short black Uniqlo puffer and it looked very cool! I think these Kenzo x H&M pieces need to be mixed in to your wardrobe. I think the blouses and t-shirts are your best bet! With some neutral, classic pieces, they are just the right burst of print and colour.

Of course, the Kenzo x H&M collection is already fetching high prices on eBay. I visited the Eaton Centre H&M location on Thursday and Sunday evening, and there was still a large stock. I picked up the dress in a size medium, which is too large, so I’m heading back to exchange it. My sister, in San Diego was able to snag the same dress, which she styled here, in a size XS, which is probably more ideal for me too!

Normally, H&M designer collections are sized smaller, but it seems this line runs true to size.
