When the holiday season comes around, stress can sometimes set in from shopping for loved ones, balancing a budget and trying to keep a sane schedule while still attending everyone’s Christmas party. Holiday dressing can be another challenge, but a few versatile and festive pieces can go a long way. Isabel Marant pour H&M’s collection features both cozy knits for the Christmas fireplace and feminine pieces that can be dressed up for dinner and office parties. Here is how I incorporated the collection into a holiday-ready ensemble.
I’m wearing the silver tulip skirt ($79.90) and silk blouse ($99.90) from the Isabel Marant collection for H&M. The flowy silk blouse is great over jeans or under a blazer, but I decided to tuck it into a voluminous skirt to play with prints and volume. The silver skirt features a festive metallic brocade fabric. The tulip silhouette isn’t the most flattering, so make sure to balance the figure out with a pair of stilettos, mine are from Zara. I also wore opaque black tights to give the appearance of extra long legs, balancing the heavy top half. I accessorized with a little red suede colour block clutch for punch.
The outfit formula of silk blouse + statement skirt + black opaque tights is one that can be mixed and matched for a lot of party looks. Even if you can’t afford to spend anything on a new outfit, playing with patterns and mixing and matching winter prints and fabrics is a good way to dust off an old favourite. It’s also a formula that can be worn to work under a sensible blazer. Simply add a statement bag or necklace, a higher pair of pumps and you’re ready for the office Christmas party!
