Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa Review

In June, we had the pleasure of being hosted by the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa and the Algarve Tourism Bureau. I’ve always dreamed of visiting the Algarve region, to experience the picturesque cliffs, famous beaches and seafood cuisine. I’m sharing a Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa Review recapping our stay at the resort, what we did during a rainy day and why it’s the perfect family vacation.

Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa Review

Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is located in Vilamoura, 25 minutes from Faro Airport. The hotel has six pools, five restaurants, a 24-hour fitness centre and is close to two golf courses as well. Many of the suites feature kitchens, so it’s perfect for families as well.

When we arrived after a 6-hour drive from the Douro Valley, we were greeted to a massive suite, complete with a full kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a gorgeous view of the main pool. We popped a bottle of champagne and enjoyed it as the sun set over the resort.

The room was incredibly spacious, large and bright. In the Algarve region, we took a lot more time to unwind. We slept in a lot and took things at a slower pace. It was incredible having a serene home base, as well as all the amenities of having pools, restaurants and bars without having to go far! One of my favourite memories at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa was picking up some groceries and Daniel cooking his famous pasta. After over two weeks of traveling and eating out, it was an absolute delight to have the amenities to cook inside our hotel room (Daniel will also say it was a delight to have laundry machines as well!)

This was our balcony view. We enjoyed so many cups of coffee and glasses of wine with this view over our four day stay.

The grounds of the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa were stunning and lush. There are waterfalls, gardens and beautiful palms all over the resort. I enjoyed exploring the beautiful scenery, and had a chance to swim in all six pools! My favourite was the “teen pool” which had a stunning arch and waterfall that reminded me of the cliffs in Lagos. It was so nice to relax poolside with a drink.

My outfit details included a polkadot cami mini dress from Forever 21, a vintage Japanese picnic bag (similar modern version here), Baublebar earrings, white cat-eye ssunglasses from Mango, suede mules from Vince Camuto. My printed swimsuit is by Red Carter and the other Pusheen Purrmaid suit is from Primark (similar Pusheen bathing suit here), and my purple sunglasses are from Sojos at Amazon.

The Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is family friendly, with large rooms and kitchen suites, plenty of pools and even a kids’ club. I would love to return to this resort with my own family one day, as we had so much fun!

7 Seven Spa at Hilton Vilamoura Review

On our second last day at the Hilton Vilamoura, we took pictures around the resort in the morning, but sadly got rained out. We made a quick stop to the beautiful Designer Outlet Algarve. This mall and outlet centre was only 18 minutes away by car, and offered lots of shopping options and even IKEA. A Portugal World Cup game was on as well, so I could leave Daniel while I went shopping.

After we shopped till we dropped, we changed into our swimwear and robes and headed down to the 7 Seven Spa at Hilton Vilamoura. Located on the hotel property, this luxurious spa is accessible via elevator and is the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing in Lagos, or a couple rounds at the golf course.

The 7 Seven Spa at Hilton Vilamoura is actually Portugal’s largest spa! There’s an indoor pool with various hydrotherapy options, a dry sauna, steam room, and my personal favourite, the rain spa where you can select a tropical or Siberian rainstorm experience. Daniel and I spent a few hours here doing a typical Scandinavian circuit, with a sauna session, cold water plunge, and finishing off with a warm relaxation pool. There were also beds and a zen garden to relax in.

I loved that the spa was very serene and not too busy. We were able to relax and rejuvenate after a long vacation sightseeing all over Lisbon, Porto and the Douro Valley. I would definitely recommend the 7 Seven Spa at Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa if you have a rainier day or want to rejuvenate. Next time, I’d even tack on a massage or body treatment!

Beach Access at Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa

One of the highlights of staying at Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa was the private beach access on Vilamoura beach. The hotel operated a complimentary hourly shuttle bus to Falesia Beach, and you could walk to the Hilton Hotel’s dedicated section of beach chairs. I loved Vilamoura’s beach, with sprawling, beautiful white sand. It was very convenient to have dedicated beach chairs, so you didn’t need to lug towels or mats. There was also towel service at the beach hut as well, and a tapas bar in case you get peckish!

For our beach day, I wore an H&M blue and white floral kimono (which I also wore in Porto), a sunhat from H&M, and a round straw bag I bought at a shop in Porto.

While Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa is not located on the beach, the direct, private access was very convenient. There were dozens of chairs, and I loved the insta-ready beach hut.

Golf courses near Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa

My parents visited the Algarve region a few years ago for one reason: golf. While my handicap is embarrassing, luckily, the Algarve region offers so much more than just golf. However, if you’re here in Vilamoura to golf, you’ve come to the right place! There are many golf courses near Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa. My father enjoyed playing at the nearby Pinhal Golf Course. It was challenging, and offered stunning views of the Ocean. There are many options in the Algarve region for golf, so I encourage you to explore!

We had a wonderful time at the Hilton Vilamoura. It was the perfect resort in the Algarve region to relax. It was also conveniently located near the beautiful Vilamoura Marina and Casino, as well as a one-hour drive to the stunning Lagos. I would definitely recommend booking this resort if you’re looking for a resort experience that’s luxurious, family-friendly and close to great golf courses.
