Happy first day of fall! With a new season, often comes a new wardrobe, except this year I’m all about prolonging summer with florals for fall. A dress in a deeper, muted print with botanical prints feels a lot more fall appropriate, especially when paired with great accessories.
I’m wearing a floral dress from the GP & J Baker Collection for H&M (sold out, get the kimono here), a necklace c/o Swarovski, an Hermes Clic Clac bracelet, a Gucci Marmont Bag and the Liraven Pump by Mix No. 6 c/o DSW Canada.

These studded pumps from DSW Canada are so comfortable, and add a major style statement. They’re a great way to get the Valentino Rockstud look for less! While I also loved the BCBG Darronx style, which I also got at DSW Canada, this pair from Mix No. 6 is made of Vegan leather. I’ve been wearing them out to events and dinners all week, the comfort definitely surprised me and they are a style steal to get that Rockstud look for under $100!
While plaid seems to be the it-print this season, florals for fall look so feminine in lovely, especially on these warmer September days. To bring this GP & J Baker for H&M wrap dress into the next season, I’d layer the floral dress under a long wool coat and add slouchy suede boots for a chic, bohemian vibe.
For now, I paired the GP & J Baker for H&M dress with nude accessories to make the print really stand out.
We shot this outfit at Café Cancan, a lovely little bistro in the Harbord Village area of Toronto. Don’t judge a restaurant by its pink door though, this adorable bistro has amazing French cuisine and Frosé cocktails! My sister and I enjoyed a little cinq à sept before we met our parents for dinner at Piano Piano, Café Cancan’s big sister. Of the two, I much prefer Café Cancan for its cheery, intimate atmosphere and delicious food!
While I’m sad patio days are coming to a close, I’m embracing the new season by wearing florals for fall and my other favourites. There’s nothing a good trench won’t fix!
