First Day in Paris

First Day in Paris

Yesterday, I arrived in Paris and couldn’t believe my eyes. I couldn’t believe a place this beautiful exists… and every expectation I had was met.

I can’t understand why Parisians don’t like the Eiffel Tower. It’s a beautiful landmark, and I can’t wait to see the view from the observation deck… if only I could brave it to the very top!

I couldn’t get over how beautiful the tower was. All these years, a decal of the famous Parisian landmark sat serenely on the wall near my bed, so it was incredible to finally see it in real life.

My sister and I had some fun taking tourist photos. This pose was inspired by some very creative and dynamic Japanese tourists. Coco Rocha has nothing on them!

I’ve always been inspired by the Art Nouveau movement and the I came across one of the old Metro entrances while walking towards the Arc du Triomphe.

This little Corner Cafe (as it was so aptly named), had a cute little pistachio-coloured camion parked outside.

My new purse from Cinderella in Utrecht matches the truck to a tee.

For my first day, I wore polka dot jeans from Topshop, a white tie chiffon blouse from H&M, a purple leather jacket I got at a sample sale in Utrecht from DNA, and my ballerinas are by Salvatore Ferragamo.

For arm candy, I’m wearing a vintage gold bracelet from Italy, a pearl bracelet from H&M, a rose ring from Forever XXI and my gold watch.

After some walking around, we headed towards the Champs Elysées. While the chestnuts weren’t in blossom, this mystical shopping promenade was full of sights, fashion and my favourite travel activity; people watching.

One of my first stops was inside the flagship Louis Vuitton store. With multiple levels and clothing collections (!), the store was a piece of classic French fashion.

The windows featured carousel horses and garments from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I fell in love with this season, and I got a peak of it inside…

I loved the pastel granny pieces that would look so cute strolling along the Seine.

I snuck these photos inside the store of people compulsively buying monogram bags. Not exactly my cup of tea, but I fell in love with all the trunks in the store.

I finished the day with some Chinese food (typical of me), and a walk home to my hotel. I can’t believe I slept a few blocks away from this very sight, and I can’t wait to see more of this magical city.
