Conversation Heart Clutch: Valentine’s Day Outfit

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you are celebrating this day of love with your special someone, your family or your best friends (furry ones included), there’s one thing we can all look forward to – candy. I fell in love with this Conversation Heart Clutch from Aldo, and decided to style it for a Valentine’s Day outfit with a romantic feminine skirt and cozy sweater. The clutch is the ultimate conversation starter and pulls together the theme of Valentine’s Day in this outfit.

I’m wearing a purple a-line midi skirt c/o Chicwish, a white sequin sweater from Zellers (RIP!) similar here, a conversation heart clutch from Aldo, a Jewelmint collar necklace and BCBG suede booties.

I wanted to keep my jewelry neutral, and the collar necklace adds a bit of sparkle and interest to a plain sweater, and the heart cocktail ring plays into the outfit’s Valentine’s Day theme. I love how this sweater looks like iridescent snow.

This skirt might be a bit daunting to wear, but its nipped in waist and flattering length is complimented by a pair of high heels. I didn’t want the punchy purple colour to compete with anything, so I paired it with the neutral winter white sweater and black tights and booties to lengthen my legs. I tried wearing the skirt with a silk shirt, but with such a voluminous skirt, it’s a good idea to balance the proportion out with a tighter-fitting top.
