Baby blue beanie

Canada has been freezing for way too long and personally, I’ve gotten sick and tired of bundling up in a thick goose down coat, three layers of socks and doubling up my sweaters. It was slightly warmer last week and slush was disappearing, so I wanted to share a sexy night look featuring my favourite new baby blue beanie from Aldo. I paired the tuque with a matching blue plaid coat, which was finally warm enough to wear, and a voluminous grey dress for a flirty winter look.

I’m wearing a grey neoprene skater dress c/o Chicwish, a plaid coat from Zara (old, similar here), thigh high boots from Zara (similar here), my Phillip Lim for Target mini Pashli satchel, and a baby blue beanie from Aldo.

I love the flared babydoll shape of this neoprene dress. The fabric is very thick, and when it arrived was creased and wrinkled, but most of those creases came out after I steamed the dress. The fabric itself holds its shape and is very warm. To counteract the girly shape, I wore a plaid wool topper. Plaid is a huge trend this winter, and I love the dramatic hood of this coat. The beanie tops the look off with a punch of spring-like colour and hides a bad hair day.

This outfit would be great for date night or drinks with friends. The dress can be dressed up with a fancier coat, or in a more casual way with motorcycle boots and a leather jacket.
