Meridian Spending Challenge: How to live on $100 for one week

Living in the city can be challenging financially. With rent, transit and entertainment, costs can add up quick. I was excited to take on the Meridian Spending Challenge to see how to live on $100 for one week. meridian pics (7 of 7) meridian pics (2 of 7) If you've been following my blog, you know that I can be frugal. While I love luxury pieces, I love a good deal or steal. This dress is adorable... and wait for it - it was $16 from Wal-Mart. While picking up groceries I snagged it up, because I loved the print and mock neck style (similar dress online here). I paired it with a pair of cheap and chic Just Fab velvet shoes (similar pink velvet heels), and amped up the look with my luxe new Gucci Marmont Shoulder Bag. The perfect pair of pumps: La Canadienne Renny

Since I started working, I've discovered more pieces that fit my lifestyle. The La Canadienne Renny pump can be dubbed my favourite pair of shoes. With luxurious suede, a perfect high heel and comfortable pitch, these shoes were made for walking. And it seems I'm in good company, as Canada's first lady, Sophie Trudeau has been seen wearing the La Canadienne Renny style dozens of times. best black pumps (7 of 7) best black pumps (3 of 7) I paired the La Canadienne Renny pump with a floral embroidered dress from SheIn. Champagne Birthday

Last week, I celebrated my 26th Birthday, which was also my Champagne birthday. My family and I went to Colette Grand Cafe to celebrate with Parisian Flair! This little French bistro, located in the bottom of the Thompson Hotel has been on my restaurant wish list. Finally, I got to visit and celebrate my birthday there. birthday (4 of 4) To match the surroundings, I wore this adorable pastel striped dress from ASOS. I love how it's off-the-shoulders and has a high-low hem. I accessorized with a pearl choker from Forever 21, and my heels are the Stella style from Katy Perry Collections. These shoes are incredible and sure to turn heads. They're also super comfy with all the straps! [show_shopthepost_widget id="2844694"]

Dahlia Fields

magine a field full of colourful flowers, as far as the eye can see. I can’t believe that was my weekend! On Sunday, we drove about 40 minutes from Toronto and discovered a gorgeous farm, with fruit trees, berries and adorable pumpkin patches. But the highlight for me, was a field full of dahlias in all shapes, colours and sizes. This magical place is Andrews Scenic Acres and it’s definitely worth a visit soon, while the flowers are still out.

Andrews Scenic Acres

Andrews scenic acres (6 of 12) Andrews scenic acres (9 of 12) Andrews scenic acres (2 of 12) It was a sweltering day, almost 40 degrees with the humidity, but we paid the $5 entrance fee (free on weekdays!) and borrowed some clippers to pick some dahlias. We ended up making over 4 bouquets with different themes! We only cut 15 stems, and it only cost about $12 for everything which was a complete steal. PRO TIP: come to Andrews Scenic Acres with a bucket in your car so you can put the flowers in water right away! We had to drive to a nearby dollar store to pick up an emergency mop bucket to save these beauties. Andrews scenic acres (5 of 12) Andrews scenic acres (1 of 12) For our flower-picking adventure at Andrews Scenic Acres, I wanted to wear something elegant, feminine and retro. I found this green and white-striped dress from Zara (similar striped dress here), which has fun puffed sleeves and an A-line shape. I belted it with my skinny Gucci Marmont belt, to add some glamour to the country look. I also wore a fun green top-handle Whipster bag from Aldo Accessories, that reminds me of the Gucci collection too. I love how it has those fun pearls. I kept jewelry simple and wore studs c/o Pandora and a charm bracelet c/o Thomas Sabo Charm Club. For shoes, I wore simple tan sandals from Clarks, but would recommend closed toe or washable shoes since the fields get dusty. Shop the post:[show_shopthepost_widget id="2831440"]
