I have a bit of a confession to make… as a fashion devotee and lover of all natural materials, I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never owned a cashmere sweater. I think I might have had one old black one with enlarged shoulders and an 80s-era tie front, passed down to me. That sweater was reserved for skiing and winter cottage trips when warmth was a necessity. It’s not like I avoided finding one, I have spent hours in J.Crew and Hudson’s Bay, rifling through racks only to find sweaters that made me look like a sad (albeit soft and fuzzy), sack. Finally, I ran into the perfect cashmere sweater that’s versatile enough to be either my Sunday-morning cozy wrap, or the perfect chic layering piece over a shirtdress.
I love that this cardigan is long, yet streamlined. It also looks great belted if you want even more shape and the chevron stripes add a little bit of interest to an otherwise plain beige sweater.
I’m glad I held off from purchasing a plain cashmere cardi, and I have finally found my match. I’ve been scouring Winners locations in hopes of finding the same style in grey or black, but now that I have cashmere to call my own, I’m sure there will be many more in my future wardrobe.
