Black and white is the top trend for spring and summer this year. But sometimes, I feel that it can be a bit harsh when the temperature rises. This look is about softening the trend, creating a flirty and feminine black and white striped date look.
I’m wearing an ancient dress from Forever 21. I love the layered lace, which still picks up the stripes trend, but adds fun texture to soften graphic stripes. I paired it with comfy t-strap wedges, c/o Randa and my neon pink Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC clutch.
The shoes tie in the black and white trend, but also remind me of Prada’s Spring 2013 collection, which had Japanese influences, daisies and cherry blossoms adorning the clothes and accessories. Coincidentally, Randa is a Japanese brand, which is on the radar of famous fashion bloggers like Kayture and AMLUL. I was really impressed with the brand’s adorable packaging…
And the shoes are comfy. Since it is a Japanese brand, however, they only stock up to a size 8.5 or 9, which is a shame since their shoes are perfectly trendy and feminine!
I’m a little bit obsessed with my Mini Mac. I always find new ways to wear it, and for this look, I unclipped the strap and wore it as a clutch! Maybe the next time I go out, I’ll wear it like this to dinner, then clip on the strap when I go a bar to dance.
To get my hairstyle, wash your hair, and while it’s still damp, french or dutch braid it. Let it sit overnight or even longer. I left mine in for over 12 hours, and my hair is still kinky a couple days later. I wanted to imitate the texture of the dress with my hair, and it almost helps to balance out the fuller skirt.
