Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Collection review

Contouring is everywhere. Ever since Kim K and beauty bloggers started sharing the secrets to get a DIY nose job, every make up artist and brand have hopped on the trend. Today, I'm sharing a Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Collection review. I'm not a huge fan of the heavily contoured look, but these projects are perfect for getting a natural, flawless defined look. I wanted to share how the entire process, from start to finish, as well as some tips for pulling off a natural contour makeup look. Here are all the products I used: [show_shopthepost_widget id="1566476"] Step 3: Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Face Palette make up for ever pro sculpting face palette The new Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Face Palette is a gorgeous set of cream colours. First, I took some of the contour colour with my fingers and dragged it along my cheekbones. I then took a plain blush brush (I find the Real Techniques Sculpting brush works best) to blend it out in tiny circular motions. Next, I used my pinky to gently dab some of the illuminating cream shade on the tops of my cheekbones, down my nose and above my cupid's bow. I found picking the product up with my fingers really allowed it to blend, but I could always use my beautyblender again too! Lastly, I swished my blush brush into the blush colour of the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Face Palette, over the apples of my cheeks for an innocent, natural rosy glow! Colour 20 is great for light skin tones, or if you're hoping to get a more natural contour look. Step 4: Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip make up for ever pro sculpting lip The most innovative product from this line is the Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip. I started by applying the creamy, pigmented lip crayon all over my lips. I loved that it was mechanical, and unlike my Nars pencils, the cream pencil was super easy, as it sharpened on its own and applied like a dream.

Style the trend: Graphic Stripes

This season, fall down the rabbit hole into a land of whimsical, bright prints. A standout pattern are graphic stripes, in bright colours and fantastical shapes, to create a youthful free-spirited vibe. I styled a graphic striped maxi dress on my recent trip to Riviera Maya to show you how to style the trend. Here, I took the minimalistic approach and let the graphic stripes speak for themselves! You can also take the maximalist approach, and pile on the graphic stripes for a major statement. I wanted to share some major inspiration from Farfetch, an international website that connects customers with the best boutiques and designers on one site, one platform. What I personally love about this site is their curated, on-trend selection and the fact that they include shipping and duties in their prices, so there's no surprise for us Canadians! Check out some of my favourite graphic striped pieces below: farfetch pattern mixing stripes For a chic, professional look, I paired the Lanvin Candy Stripe Shift Dress, with a pair of Paula Cademartori Crazy Striped Sandals. With bare legs, this combo screams it-girl. To carry all your essentials in between brunch, afternoon meetings and drink dates, the Valentino B-Rockstud Striped Shoulder Bag is your perfect companion. I loved mixing bold stripes of the dress with the pastel shade of the purse. What makes this look cohesive is that all the stripes are warm colours, and compliment one another without clashing. The cork on the shoes also adds a unique texture to break up the patterns. Shop the post:[show_shopthepost_widget id="1550227"]

Pandora Festival Collection

pandora festival collection (11 of 11) pandora festival collection (4 of 11) pandora festival collection (7 of 11) It's the first weekend of Coachella, and while I'm personally in my PJ's, studying for my law school exams this weekend, I'm having serious FOMO of all the parties and concerts in Coachella Valley. While it's finally warming up here in Ottawa, I was excited to style pieces part of the Pandora Festival Collection with some spring favourites for a casual look. I'm wearing a grey sweater from American Eagle, denim skirt from Forever 21, brown and champagne leather bracelets c/o Pandora, and a leather watch c/o Daniel Wellington. My lip colour is NYX Liquid Suede in Vintage. Shop the post: [show_shopthepost_widget id="1546383"]

Anniversary staycation: Nordik Spa-Nature Review

spa nordik (1 of 3)

Nordik Spa-Nature Review

A couple weekends ago, my boyfriend came up to Ottawa from Toronto to celebrate our six year anniversary. We wanted to remember the occasion with something special, and visited Le Nordik for a day of pampering and relaxation. I'm excited to share a Nordik Spa-Nature review if you're thinking of visiting soon too. North America's largest spa is located only 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa, in Chelsea, Quebec, nearby the gorgeous Gatineau Park. Upon checkin, guests are given an electronic wristband to a coordinating locker. I loved this because it made it simple to leave everything and I didn't have to worry about losing a card, key or combination. I changed into my bikini and fluffy robe and took a tour of the massive spa. There were three main areas, the closest to the entrance, Borëa, featured the warmest hot tub (which was heavenly), a cold waterfall and Vaporo, which were aromatic steam Finnish saunas that diffused essential oils. I'm usually not a big fan of dry saunas, but the wet saunas with Eucalyptus or Orange essential oils were so heavenly and I could feel me skin getting softer, as my sinuses got relief too. After leaving the sauna, I dipped into the cold pool, while my boyfriend was braver and went under the freezing cold waterfall. This is all part of the process of detoxifying the body. You start off hot (with a sauna), cool off in the cold water, and then spend about 15-20 minutes relaxing. I definitely spent more time than that  in the hot tub though!

Springtime blues

banana republic shirt dress (3 of 4) April in Paris sounds like a good idea right now, because as I write this outside my window, all I can see are snow-covered rooftops and slushy streets. I've been dying to transition into a cute spring dress, trench and heels. I wore this Banana Republic shirt dress with warm tights and TOMS booties for a transitional look. While I can't wait to wear this dress with bare legs and lace up flats and a sun hat, for now, I love the way this dress looks with a wool topper and booties. I'm wearing a Banana Republic shirt dress, wedge booties c/o TOMS, Whitacker Place Elena bag from Kate Spade NY, necklace, bracelet and earrings c/o Hillberg & Berk, gold bow watch from Kate Spade and sunglasses c/o Polette.
