A couple weeks ago, I attended the Alex and Ani Carnivals and Caravans launch in Canada. The collection featured bohemian and nomadic inspiration with jewel tones and brights, natural stones and vintage motifs. Alex and Ani was also celebrating their launch in Canada, where the Rhode Island-based jewelry line is available at Hudson’s Bay online and in a few stores across Canada.
Alex and Ani was launched in 2004 by Carolyn Rafaelian and is based in Cranston, Rhode Island. All of the products are manufactured in the U.S. of locally sourced recycled materials. The brand exudes an eco-concious vibe, but is also stimulating local economies. The company has also branched out to work with charities including their Charity by Design line.
Also on display was the Natural Wonders collection which had a more organic influence and featured rich hues like orange, forest green and cobalt. One piece that stood out were the Journey Wraps ($48), which feature natural stones to convey different energies. I also liked the Meadow Wrap ($48) which featured an adorable daisy, which is right on trend this season.
Guests snapped pictures in a photo booth and could enjoy some carnival-themed treats. I loved snacking on popcorn and cotton candy! A quick video about the brand’s philosophy and founder also helped explain the company’s mission.
To the event, I wore a hot air balloon print dress, c/o 6Ks, Vince Camuto cage heels, a leather satchel and I accessorized with some Alex and Ani bangles. I love the whimsical print of this dress, and thought it went perfectly with the evening’s fantasy and eclectic vibe. The peter pan collar of this dress is cutesy, but the cutout gives it a little more edge.
I’ve always been addicted to charms, and this jewelry line has so many motifs and symbols for everyone. They’ve also launched a Canada Maple Leaf bangle, which is perfect to celebrate the brand’s launch in Canada. I love how the pieces are customizable and individual, and the unique expandable design allows the bracelets to fit anyone. The Alex and Ani Carnivals and Caravans collection is available at Hudson’s Bay.
