Denis Gagnon S/S 2012

On Friday night, LG Fashion Week closed with Denis Gagnon’s Spring 2012 Collection. The completely sold out tent was filled with romance, fun and intrigue as models frolicked down the runway in David Pecaut Square.  Gagnon is a showman, and the collection ended with a gay marriage… sealed with a sweet kiss of course!

The show was the epitome of Parisienne chic with its tailored blazers, dainty floral prints and attention to detail. C’est si bon!

This was one of my favourite looks from the show.  I adore the classic black satin blazer with contrasting white tape, and that feminine floral print is romantic and feminine.  I like that the print is on a smaller scale, which is more luxurious and intricate.  Paired with the patent oxfords, this look is adorable.

I love this satin romper for its simplicity and form… but the floral pockets hanging out add to the disheveled look and tie it into the collection.

I adored the juxtaposition between the floral print and houndstooth.  Maybe that’s just a bias, because I adore those prints.  This suit would be a stunning addition to a wardrobe and definitely makes a statement.  The models’ makeup was natural and hair was disheveled, but that just added to the carefree vibe of the runway show.

This combination went a little overboard on the floral print, though I really like the leggings.  The contrasting white piping and white collar/sleeves accentuates Gagnon’s tailoring. The backpack caused the whole crowd to ooh and ahh, and is definitely the must have piece of the collection.

Gagnon opened the show with a “short” fashion film, Nuits Nouvelles… that wasn’t exactly short.  The audience got a little restless and took to some hilarious tweets.  In the end, that didn’t matter, because we got a fun collection and a beautiful way to close LG Fashion Week… avec un bisou.
