Dry lips come hand in hand with cold, Canadian winters. For years, I’ve used your run-of-the-mill drugstore lip balm, but find that I’m constantly reapplying while my lips feel drier and drier. I got a sample of Fresh Sugar Lip Rose once at Sephora, and I’ve been in love with the product ever since. Fresh recently sent me a collection of their best Sugar lip products to review, and I am obsessed with all the shades. Keep reading for my Fresh Sugar Lip Legends review…
Fresh Sugar Lip Legends comes already wrapped in a festive box for $65, however the value is over $93. Keep in mind that the lip products are sample size and not full size. Each one is 2.2g, but you’re getting seven of them, which makes 15.4g in the total package. It works out to be about $4 per g of product which is cheaper than the full size, and you get the added bonus of having a variety of shades! You can also share colours with a friend. My sister’s loving the Sugar Passion shade right now!
The swatches are very true to the colour, however I find they come out a bit sheer. I love that the Fresh Sugar Legends set includes a wide range of barely-there neutrals and berry-bitten stains. From left, Berry, Passion, Cherry, Honey, Rose,Tulip, Petal.
I’m wearing the Fresh Sugar Honey shade, which is a sheer nude beige.
Here, I’m wearing the Fresh Sugar Rose shade, a classic light pink sheer stain.
The Fresh Sugar Tulip shade is a light pink stain that is a great everyday alternative to sticky lip gloss.
My favourite is the Fresh Sugar Cherry shade which comes close to a lipstick. The colour is a bright orangey red that’s perfect for the holidays.
The Fresh Sugar Passion shade is a pretty light berry stain.
I love that the set lets you test out many of the shades from the Fresh Sugar Lip line. Each lippy comes packed with moisturizing oils, Vitamins A, C, E, and SPF 15. Great for the beach, or a day hitting the slopes, we often forget to put sunscreen on our lips. This product does triple duty by providing moisture, sun protection and a light tint of colour.
I would definitely take advantage of the gift set to either try out the shades yourself, or to give as a gift to a loved one. These would also be great as a base for lipstick as well.
