Feather print kimono in the Kawarthas

Feather print kimono in the Kawarthas

This weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving, and I look forward every year to return to my cottage and see how the land transforms with colour. I took these pictures the last time I was up north, when the leaves were still green. Lace dresses are a staple for summer, but can be worn in fall with more layers, like my feather print kimono.

I’m wearing a feather print kimono (similar DAILYLOOK Kimono), lace dress, amethyst necklace, Pandora leather bracelet and a Pandora silver hamsa charm (c/o).

The Pandora leather bracelet is a dark navy and is part of the Pandora Winter 2014 collection. I adore this little silver hamsa charm. When I visited Greece this May, the motif was everywhere and I’ve been wearing this charm both on my bracelet and as a necklace as well. The open palm design offers protection to the wearer, and is believed to be a defence agains the evil eye. I love how Pandora charms are customizable and are an opportunity to add a personal element to an outfit.

I’ve always wanted to take pictures near this fox den. As a kid, I was scared a bear lived in there, and would eat my dog and I! It’s a lot more innocent than that, and has been abandoned for a while. In the springtime, this little spot is covered in trilliums and a stream flows through the rocks like a waterfall. I’ve had dreams as a child that fairies lived there too…  green forestI can’t wait to walk through these forests again this weekend, this time, it’ll be even more magical.
