Summertime sadness

While fall merchandise is in full swing, I always long for summer clothing in August. The days where I can wear denim shorts and breezy tees are numbered, so even my work outfits have a summer vibe. I wore this look a couple days ago, and I was excited to take my new booties for a spin.

I’m wearing a floral print dress from H&M, which I purchased when the chain first came to Canada… aka over ten years ago! Believe it or not, this pretty ruffled dress is still a piece I go back to, and was definitely better quality since both the style and construction has stood the test of time. I paired the dress with my light blue Marc by Marc Jacobs groovee satchel, an ivory rose necklace and my new suede Ash laser cut booties I bought at the eLuxe.ca sample sale a couple weeks ago.

The boots are a stunning piece, and were a steal! I think they are perfect to transition. Right now, I’ll wear them barefoot, but I can easily wear a thick pair of coloured tights in the fall.

My Marc by Marc Jacobs satchel is also one of those pieces that can go from summer to winter too. It always adds a cool burst of colour and goes with nearly everything!

While I might be wearing fall-centric pieces, it’s nice to still walk around carefree without a jacket or tights… I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
