At the 2013 Grammy Awards, Beyonce was near the top of my best dressed list with her mod pantsuit from Osman Studio. Black and white is a huge trend for spring, and Queen B pulled it off flawlessly.
I wanted to copy her black and white pantsuit, and found a perfect interpretation at Zara for only $79.90 (available online here).
I picked up the pantsuit this weekend, and fell in love with its simple design and the stripes. I loved how there were both vertical and horizontal stripes juxtaposed, creating a graphic detail. This cut imitated Beyonce’s black and white top as well. I copied her styling by putting my hair in a pony, donning simple eye makeup and a sexy red pout. Beyonce wore two silver cuffs, and I did as well, but I mixed and matched a little bit for interest. I also put on classic black peep toe platforms from Aldo and a studded black clutch as well. The cost of my outfit – $170.
My dragonfly bracelet was an interpretation of the crystal (or probably diamond) cuff Beyonce was wearing. I love dragonflies, and this was a sweet gift from my father from the Ha-Choo gift store in Apsley, Ontario.
The back of this jumpsuit has an elegant drape and button closure, to add some femininity to a masculine silhouette.
The pantsuit has a medium rise, which is a bit awkward if you have fuller hips. I had to lift the natural waistline on the jumpsuit up a bit, so I definitely suggest getting it a size larger so the shape looks more relaxed than tight. It will also be easier to sit in that way!
I also wore a blue ombre manicure. Not sure if Beyonce would as well, but that’s my own personal touch to this copycat look!
Wow! Just amazing!!! Love everything from this outfit!
