How to Wear the Anna Dello Russo Collection for H&M…

The Anna Dello Russo collection for H&M is fabulously over the top… but how can you wear it in everyday situations? The key is to use the pieces as an accent and pair them with neutral colours.

For my second look featuring Anna Dello Russo for H&M accessories, I paired this cream tulle tutu dress with lace booties. Compared to my last post, I feel that this look showcases how the OTT collection can be incorporated into a daily look.

It’s no secret that I love turquoise. My heart skips a beat when I see a little blue box from the eponymous jewelry retailer, and even my android is decked out in a shade of mint. I decided to add turquoise as an accent colour to my neutral outfit, and wore the turquoise cuff, $59.95 and the clutch, $69.95 from the ADR at H&M collection. I love the rich contrast between turquoise and gilded gold, the way the filligrees of the bracelet reflect the dress’ embroidered bodice, and I adore the dog clasp on the clutch! I make a point of having statement accessories in any outfit I pull together (even if I’m going to ballet, I wear Chanel-inspired pearl bobby pins), and adding a touch of over the top pieces exudes elegance and personality.

These sunglasses are a LOT more toned down than their alligator cousins, but still make a bold statement. Featuring a gold glass, tortoiseshell arms and nosepieces, and snake-shaped hinges, these sunglasses give cat-eye frames a dose of gilded glamour. Funny enough, I have a vintage pair of Givenchy sunglasses that have snake hinges too! I wonder if Anna was inspired by the model from the late 60s? Thank you grandma for passing down that pair to me, and who knows? Maybe this pair will go to one of my stylish grandkids one day too.

If you’re weary of looking too costumey in this collection, have no fear! A lot of the items are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and you can never have too much jewelry!
