A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to visit one of Canada’s most vibrant cities, Montreal. I haven’t been there in way too long and I soaked up the sun, took in the culture and ate one too many servings of poutine and viande fumée. On my first full day there, we hiked up Mont Royal for a fantastic scenic view.
I’m wearing a red romper purchased from the Shop Up popup in Utrecht. It’s a British brand called Motel Rocks. Because it’s a sample, it seems to be one of a kind, but you can still nab a similar style here and here. I styled it with my favourite Massimo Dutti satchel and layered strands of pearls both vintage and fast fashion.
I love the cycle culture in Montreal, it reminded me of European cities like Berlin and Amsterdam; large cities with both cars and cyclists living in harmony (ahem… take note Toronto!)
Montreal is without a doubt the most cultural city in Canada, and it’s little projects like this that I appreciate. Outside the Beaux Arts, this artist used temporary road markers to create a visually striking installation.
I also loved the hippie vibe emanating from the parks in the summertime. A few minutes after this photo was taken, a group of 20 people assembled for a communal yoga class in the park. The night before, I caught a Zumba class in the park as well. It’s incredible to see so many young people being active outdoors! And made want to join in, even if the class was in French.
The best part about this romper? The back! I love the peekaboo back and button details. And the best part of Mont Royal? The view.
This look was posted on the pleated poppy’s what I wore wednesday, and on Lookbook and Chicisimo as well!
Oh my! I love this so much, especially the back!

Looks like an amazing visit! Such gorgeous photos. And what a perfect outfit! I love outfits that have a special little something. And the back of that is just gorgeous. Popping over from the Pleated Poppy.
