Primavera

This look was inspired by romance, rejuvenation and of course, the Spring season that is so close…

I fell in love with this crochet dress from H&M. It pained me to have to leave behind a beautiful hand-crocheted dress (it couldn’t fit into my luggage), and I thought this one would suffice. With its trapeze sleeves, high neckline and a-line silhouette, it’s the perfect demure little white dress.

White is the quintessential summer neutral, and as seen on the red carpet last night, continues to be a hot hue this summer as it was last year.

I accessorized the look with brown alpine booties I bought in Amsterdam, a quilted pink crossbody bag, freshwater pearl bracelets that were a gift from my aunt and a rose ring from Forever XXI. These girly accessories complimented the femininity of this summery frock.

But the main accessory is the cherry on top- or in this case, the flowers on top. I made this headband out of silk flowers from H&M for an art project and for Carnivale in Maastricht. The crown was inspired by Flora from Botticelli’s, La Primavera.

Spring is slowly starting to pop up in Utrecht, and I see more and more of it everyday. Today, I watched a swan float gracefully on the water, and I think a couple of birds are trying to make a nest in between my spacebox and my neighbour. Crocuses are flourishing, and I can even see some daffodil bulbs starting to peek out from beneath the peet.
