On January 7th, many Eastern Orthodox people around the world celebrate Christmas. I always feel lucky to enjoy two Christmas dinners and prolonging the Holiday season. To celebrate on the blog, I’m sharing a Kate Middleton inspired plaid midi skirt outfit that is festive and perfect for the winter season.
I’m wearing a Kate Middleton inspired plaid midi skirt from H&M, a black pearl cardigan from Zara, a vintage red wool coat, a vintage Chanel bag and La Canadienne boots.
I paired this Kate Middleton inspired plaid midi skirt with a cardigan worn as a shirt to echo the Duchess of Cambridge’s Christmas look. She wore a similar plaid skirt to an engagement and I love how it flowed and complimented her slim waist. I updated the look by wearing a full length cardigan, and the pearl accents also make the look more formal. While Kate Middleton wore this red plaid skirt with a pair of knee-high boots, I opted for sleek black suede booties to keep the leg line slim.
I wore this Kate Middleton inspired plaid midi skirt outfit to the Distillery Christmas Market in Toronto. It was a gorgeous, warm morning, and my sister, Sasha and I had fun taking pictures and exploring the market with my boyfriend. The Distillery Christmas market is always a highlight in Toronto’s social calendar. This year, crowds were massive, so I recommend coming when it opens around 10 a.m. on weekends, or exploring on a weekday. From mulled wine to shopping at independent boutiques, there’s lots to do!
Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Kate Middleton’s style. Since returning from maternity leave, she’s knocked every look out of the park and the plaid skirt look was one I couldn’t wait to replicate. I’d love to recreate this outfit combination with other midi skirts and cardigans! While I tend to go for “one and done” dresses to create formal looks, I’m loving the challenge of pairing separates to form an outfit, because each piece is versatile on its own.
Merry Christmas to all those celebrating today!
