As I post this, I have about 20 tabs open, my TV on (I was watching developments in 3D earlier…) and my phone constantly updating me while I tweet and live blog as results roll in for the 2012 US Election. You can follow a live blog at Scribble Live, which is helmed by the Ryersonian. In spirit of the excitement and adrenaline surrounding the biggest night of the year, here’s a look (shot a few days ago) inspired by the US election.
I’m wearing a cobalt blue lace dress from H&M, spiked stiletto shoes (similar available here) and a vintage bag.
My bag was the main focus of the outfit, and was inspired by the results maps of the election results. Blue being Obama, Red being Romney and yellow for undecided states like Ohio and Florida.
One thing we’ve learned from Michelle Obama the past four years is that fashion and politics can be a winning combination, and while I’m stationed in Canada and can’t really do much except report, blog and tweet, I couldn’t resist posting these photos featuring my US Elections map purse (or primary colour block bag, whichever you prefer).
As I sit in my room, biting my nails for the future of the US as a nation, and ultimately the rest of the world, you can keep tabs on developments on the live blog or follow me on Twitter!
I love your patriotic outfit! It’s gorgeous–there must have been a reason we put those colors together on the flag, they really do look good together!
