A couple days ago, my boyfriend came home to Toronto from the arctic, and to celebrate the good weather, we headed down to Toronto’s Harbourfront. The boardwalk was lined with blooming trees, and I saw a couple swans bob in the water as a lone kayaker paddled by. I feel really lucky to live in a city with so many amazing locations, and the harbour is a place I love visiting to get a stunning view of the lake and watch the boats go by. Summer hasn’t hit yet, and because of that, neither have the tourists that swarm the waterfront come June.
My outfit is sort of inspired by nautical themes, and happened completely by accident. I’m wearing new red printed jeans from Abercrombie & Fitch (similar here), a blouse c/o Nowistyle, red patent Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Bow flats and a blue tote bag c/o Nowistyle.
I feel like red, white and blue is a classic combination, and I love how these pants combine both colours without clashing the two or making it look like an ode to the U.S.A. I decided to play up the colour palette through my accessories as well, but broke up the coordination with a neutral white shirt.
Another favourite spot is the HTO park. Inspired by music, the park has beautiful features and a lovely vantage point. This time of year, tulips and apple trees were blooming and left a delicate scent in the air.
After our time spent by the water, we walked up to grab a bite on Queen Street West. I’ve always wanted to go to the Tequila Bookworm (because I’m a bookworm, and I love tequila); a sign saying the patio’s open led us upstairs to a serene little patio, set to a cool alternative rap soundtrack. We ordered drinks and tacos. I had the margarita (deliciously unsweet and authentic, plus two ounces!) and the pork tacos. I loved the beets and how the apple gave a sweet, tart and crunchy bite. As for the pork, the portion was generous and so tender. Served on a bamboo board, they tasted as good as they looked.
Afterwards, we tried catching the Great Gatsby, but for some odd reason, Scotiabank wasn’t playing it. I have no intentions on seeing Scary Movie 5, so we headed out, only to come across a beautiful orange and purple sunset over the Entertainment District. A perfect end to a perfect day.

Red-white-blue, also the colours of holland, but indeed it doesn’t look like a country-supporting outfit. I love all those items, beautiful look!! 🙂
