Summer Skincare: Sunscreen
A good sunscreen is an absolute must. When I get ready in the morning, it is always one of the first steps in my beauty routine after moisturizer and my eye cream. I always look for light sunscreens with good SPF protection for my face. Here are some great sunscreen options available at Shoppers Drug Mart
One of my all-time favourites is the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Ultra Fluid Lotion SPF 60 ($29.00). This sunscreen is matte, fast-absorbing and doesn’t cake your makeup! It’s also beach-approved, as it is waterproof and has patented Mexoryl technology that provides UVA/UVB protection. I like that it is paraben and fragrance free, so it’s suitable for sensitive skin.
The past few days, I’ve been testing out Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid for Face with SPF 50 ($34.00) OR Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Lotion for Body with SPF 30 ($41.00), available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart. The body sunscreen is very lightweight and blends into the skin like a dream. The formulation is also suitable for my acne-prone skin, as it is formulated with Invisible Skin Technology and has a very blendable formula.
Summer Skincare: Radiant Makeup
Shiseido’s WetForce BB SPF50+ for Face ($48.00) is the perfect balance between a sunscreen and makeup. It’s an innovative product that combines a transfer-resistant tinted BB-cream with Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection formula and WetForce Technology for water resistant sun protection. I’m really looking forward to testing out this product on my upcoming trip to Barcelona!
Everyone loves a good primer… and Smashbox is an icon! The Smashbox Photo Finish Radiance Foundation Primer ($50.00) is a moisturizing primer enhanced with micro-fine amber & bronze pearls to give you an illuminated, bronze glow. I think a primer is an essential summer skincare item, as it helps to blur pores and lock in makeup. I love that this product also has shea butter and hyaluronic acid for hydration.
The Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil ($25.00) is a beauty mainstay that can be used as a comforting lip gloss, or layered over lipstick for a dazzling effect. Composed of pure plant oils, it is still lightweight. The Shade 07 Honey Glam is really shimmery too!
Summer Skincare: The Best Self-Tanner
St Tropez is hands-down my fave self-tanner brand. The St. Tropez Prep & Maintain Tan Applicator Mitt ($9.00) is key to achieving a flawless faux tan.
I’m really excited to try the new St. Tropez One Night Only Wash Off Face & Body Lotion ($20.00). This product gives you a streak-free tan without the commitment. Simply wash it off with soap and water in the shower! This product is perfect for a fun night out, or a photo shoot. I’d also love to use this product on just my legs to give them an extra oomph with a mini dress and sandals.
