We can all thank El Niño for the loveliest fall on record. From wearing a suede button front skirt to dreamy peasant dresses, I’ve been wearing a lot of seventies-inspired pieces for fall. This burgundy suede button front skirt has been on high rotation, mixed with sweaters, blouses and casual tees. I wore this outfit on Thanksgiving weekend. The cheeky fox sweater is festive and cute, while the knee high socks offer some warmth for a fall walk in the forest. I shot these photos up north at my cottage, and even though I had a bad cold, I enjoyed the perfect weather!
While the button front skirt looks great with coloured tights or bare legs, over-the-knee socks (or boots!) are the perfect on-trend accessory. They’re great for pairing with shorter dresses and skirts when the weather gets cooler, and look really great with flats! This two-pack from H&M is a steal, and I find they wash really well and hold their shape.
For my beauty look, I’m wearing H&M’s new beauty collection. Specifically, their mattifying powder, creamy blush in Sunny Peach, and an amazing coral creamy lipstick in the “Ablaze” shade.
As I write this, the sun is shining outside my window in Ottawa, and the last of the leaves are slowly coming down. I’ve been so grateful for such a perfect fall season, and I find that I can’t say goodbye to light layers, short skirts and cute flats just yet!
In this post, I’m wearing a suede button front skirt from Forever 21, fox sweater from Winners (similar fox sweater here), suede oxfords from DSW (similar burgundy oxford flats), wool hat from Forever 21, and over-the-knee socks from H&M.
