This spring, an airy coverup is a great way to add interest to an outfit. A chiffon kimono in a pretty botanical flower print is elegant and eccentric at the same time. But how do you wear a kimono? It can be draped over a lace dress, like how I’ve worn it, or it can be worn with jeans and a tee and belted with a rope for a more casual look as well. I decided to wear my rose print kimono over a lace dress and graphic tights. I wanted comfy shoes, so I threw convention out the window, and paired dainty lace and rose print with mint Converse. They’re off-kilter enough for a statement, but the girly colour scales it back a bit.
I’m wearing a rose print kimono from Urban Planet (similar here), a dainty cream lace dress, Miu Miu glitter sunglasses, periwinkle purple Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag, mint Converse All-Stars, tights c/o Secret, a turquoise long necklace from Forever 21, and the Pressly watch by Michael Kors.
I took these photos the day after I died my hair with Kool-Aid (check out my tutorial here), and I loved how the burgundy colour complimented the shades of mauve and purple in the floral print of this kimono.
I love the movement of kimonos, they’re so fun to twirl around in. I wore this Kimono on Easter sunday a couple weekends ago, and it was a pretty item that is formal, yet casual for a family dinner at the same time.
P.S.: Remember to enter my giveaway to win a floral print sweatshirt!
Such a pretty look! perfect for Spring and once it’s warmer you can ditch the leggings and it’ll still be perfect! great work 🙂
