Two weeks ago, I co-hosted an event at Hudson’s Bay Yorkdale, celebrating the launch of Design Lab. The event was featured on Who What Wear here, and I was so excited to be at the event, along with four other Toronto-based bloggers, Deanne of My Fash Avenue, Justine of Jetset Justine and Nelia of Style Blog. At the event, I got to style a mannequin and pick out a dress to wear for myself. If you know me, I’m all about colour and print, so the classic red gingham dress was a perfect choice for the event. I also loved how the dress featured a high neckline and fit so well!
I’m wearing a red gingham dress from Hudson’s Bay Design Lab, leather shoeties from Vince Camuto, a bangle from J. Crew and a quilted wallet on chain from Saks Fifth Avenue.

Afterwards, my boyfriend and I headed downtown for some amazing Vegan food and stopped to take some pictures by the cherry blossoms at U of T.
I wore this simple quilted bag from Saks Fifth Avenue. I was originally going to wear a nude clutch, but I thought this crossbody bag was a practical hands-free alternative. In the past, we were told by the fashion gods, Stacy and Clinton (of TLC fame) that your bag doesn’t need to match your shoes, but personally, I think this rule doesn’t apply if both accessories are basic black and you’re wearing such a statement piece like my red gingham dress!
At the event, guests could get makeup touched up, their hair braided and get metallic tattoos. I loved this bracelet and peacock feather combo and was surprised it actually lasted a few days.
Thank you to my friends that came out to the event and for supporting my blog! It was a great experience co-hosting an event and a total dream come true being featured on Who What Wear!
