Everytime winter rolls around, I’m always sad to pack away my soft pastels, vibrant neons and rich jewel toned hues as I step into a wardrobe of dreary black and grey as I transition into the cold months. But this year, packing away those pastels is a bad idea, and they can definitely be part of your fall/winter wardrobe.
I think it’s very unexpected to pair to combine a chunky knit (like this sweater, $25 at H&M) in a candy colour. I love this mint sweater and I also upped the ante by pairing it with my summery polka dot jeans from Topshop, and a pastel satchel, c/o nowistyle.jp .
I also like the contrast of the thick knit with a thin, dainty statement necklace. I find that a cheap (but chic) collar necklace from Forever 21 or H&M can turn any plain grandma sweater into a stylish look.
Another tip for keeping a pastel look from veering into the territory of Candyland? A sensible pair of leather boots are a practical, stylish classic that go with everything.
